Did you get to meet Father Christmas last year?
Well, can you believe it’s nearly mid-February, where is the year going? I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and are enjoying a good start to 2022. It has certainly begun better this year from a COVID perspective, as this time last year I had to shut the doors until Mid April. Let’s hope due to the vaccine that we’re all seeing a more flexible world returning. December flew by for me in a flurry of babies and super fun Father Christmas sessions, which I can not wait to run again later this year. My daughter informs me that on the date of writing there are 321 sleeps til Christmas! The joys of being seven years old.
It’s the first year I have run the sessions, and I have to say it was a roaring success. The big man himself was very excited to meet all the children, and we had some very excited little ones who had written notes, lists and cards ready to give to him when they arrived. We saw beautiful Christmas PJ’s, gorgeous little dresses, and very handsome boys in shirts and bow ties. I just love how festive everyone was, it’s absolutely my favourite time of the year. I have Heart Christmas on the radio from Dec 1st, and I love making the house feel as festive as possible.
Taking your kids to see Father Christmas or Santa (I can never figure out what I should call him) is always funny, as if it’s your first time, you always run the risk of the kids running in the opposite direction, and yes, we did have a few examples of that in the studio, but it didn’t matter at all, we just sat the little ones down, sometimes with mum or dad and got Santa to stand in the background.
There were plenty of sweets to go around, and next year, Father Christmas has promised me he will be bringing presents for all the kids on the good list!
